Abstract

ABSTRACT The absence of a centralized, automated system can lead to duplicated records, misplaced equipment, or delays in fulfilling equipment requests. The Digital Inventory Management System for Departmental Equipment aims to address these issues by introducing a centralized, web-based platform that can be accessed by authorized users anywhere within the institution’s network. This system will facilitate the recording, tracking, and reporting of equipment usage in real time, allowing administrators to make informed decisions about resource allocation, procurement, and maintenance scheduling. The development of such a system aligns with global trends toward digital transformation in education and research management. As institutions embrace more complex and expensive equipment, the need for accountability, transparency, and efficient utilization becomes critical. Proper inventory management not only ensures that resources are available when needed but also reduces the likelihood of theft, loss, and unnecessary expenditure
