DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE PRACTICAL REPORT SUBMISSION SYSTEM
Abstract
The process of submitting these reports at the Department of Computer Science at Kano State Polytechnic has been a manual, paper-based procedure. Students are required to print their reports, bind them, and physically submit them to their lecturers or the departmental office. Lecturers, in turn, must manually collect, organize, and store these physical documents.
This conventional method, while functional, is fraught with numerous challenges. It is often inefficient, time-consuming for both students and lecturers, and prone to logistical issues such as misplacement, damage, or loss of reports. Furthermore, the reliance on paper contributes to increased operational costs and environmental concerns. The lecturers must physically handle large volumes of documents.
