Abstract

This project focuses on the development and implementation of an Alumni Management System for Kano Polytechnic (School of Technology) Kano. The primary aim of the system is to establish a digital platform that fosters communication, engagement, and support among graduates, while also providing administrators with tools to manage alumni records efficiently. Traditional methods of alumni tracking and engagement are often paper-based and inefficient, leading to poor record keeping and a lack of active alumni participation. This web-based solution addresses these challenges by incorporating features such as secure user registration, alumni directories, donation tracking, event management, and message broadcasting. The system was developed using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and tested using the XAMPP server environment. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model was adopted to guide development. Testing results demonstrated that the system is functional, user-friendly, and scalable. The project significantly improves alumni relations, simplifies administrative tasks, and lays the groundwork for stronger alumni-university collaboration.
