Abstract

This project focuses on the development of a livestock tracking and information management system aimed at improving the monitoring, identification, and management of livestock. Traditional methods of livestock management are often characterized by inefficiency, poor record-keeping, and difficulty in tracking animal movement, which can lead to loss, theft, and poor decision-making. The proposed system is designed to provide a computerized platform that enables farmers and livestock managers to store, update, and retrieve livestock information efficiently. The system incorporates features such as livestock registration, tracking, health record management, and report generation. The system was developed using appropriate programming tools and database technologies, following structured system development methodologies. The implementation and testing of the system revealed improved accuracy, efficiency, and ease of access to livestock information compared to the manual approach. The system helps to reduce record-keeping errors, enhance livestock monitoring, and support effective decision-making. It is therefore recommended for adoption by livestock farmers and agricultural organizations to improve livestock management practices.
