Abstract

ABSTRACT Organizational culture plays a pivotal role in influencing employee behaviour and shaping workplace attitudes. This study investigates the impact of organizational culture on employee behaviour and attitude in in the AFDIN petroleum services limited Kano State, Nigeria. Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected from employees across selected banks through structured questionnaires and interviews. The study is grounded in Schein's model of organizational culture and Ajzen’s theory of planned behaviour. This study has examined the significant role organizational culture plays in shaping employee behaviour and attitude, with specific attention to the AFDIN petroleum service limited in Kano State, Nigeria.. The review of relevant theories, conceptual clarifications, and empirical studies underscores the fact that organizational culture is a central determinant of how employees think, feel, and act within their work environments. Findings reveal that organizational culture significantly affects employee motivation, job satisfaction, and ethical behaviour. Dimensions such as leadership style, communication flow, and shared values emerged as key determinants. The study recommends fostering a culture of openness, inclusivity, and recognition to enhance employee productivity and morale. The implications are critical for banking institutions striving to maintain competitiveness through an empowered and value-aligned workforce.
