Abstract

Security in recent times has been a source of major concern to both private individual’s organization and government. However, it is against this project, installation of a closed circuit television (CCTV) system was conceived. A CCTV system was installed in NEW 1000LT where the placement of the cameras which includes the specific heights and the corresponding angles of view of each camera is calculated to get the optimum viewing angle and sharpness for each camera. A security camera captures the video, transmitted to the DVR through the CCTV cable which a BNC connector is attached. The DVR (digital video recorder) processes the transmitted image and this is recorded in a hard disc which is connected to the DVR. With an overall increase in insecurity factor, it was therefore concluded that CCTV is a more effective means for security supervision other than the conventional manual process.
