CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF FOUR VARIETIES OF SOYBEAN (GLYCINE MAX)
Abstract
ABSTRACT This experiment was conducted to determine the Proximate, Mineral and Anti-nutrient composition of four varieties of Soybean T1(TGM-93), T2(TGM-1312), T3(TGX 1904-6F) and T4(TGX 1951-3F). The samples of the four varieties were taken to Animal Science laboratory for the determination of proximate composition, and Soil Science laboratory for the determination of mineral composition as well as Biochemistry laboratory at old campus for the determination of anti-nutrient composition, all in Bayero University, Kano. Data collected were analyzed using statistical analysis system (SAS) while Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) was used to separate the means. The result of proximate analysis shows that T3 (TGX 1904-6F) had the highest Crude protein content (42.38%). Similarly, there were significant (P
