DESIGN AND PRODUCTION OF A DAZZLE DRESS
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project titled “Dressed to Dazzle: Innovative Embellished Gown Design” focuses on the creative design and construction of an embellished evening gown that combines elegance, innovation, and craftsmanship. The study explores the use of decorative techniques such as beadwork, sequins, stones, and fabric manipulation to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a gown while maintaining comfort and functionality. The project aims to showcase how embellishment can transform a simple garment into a statement piece suitable for special occasions such as weddings, red-carpet events, and formal celebrations. The design process involved concept development, fabric selection, pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, embellishing, and final finishing. Emphasis was placed on balance, color harmony, silhouette, and attention to detail. Findings from this project demonstrate that innovative embellishment techniques significantly contribute to garment value, uniqueness, and market appeal in the fashion industry. The project also highlights the importance of creativity and technical skill in producing high-quality couture garments. This study serves as a practical guide for fashion students and designers interested in advanced gown design and embellishment techniques.
