DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AUTOMATIC DATA BACKUP SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF ANSARAWA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANCY)
Abstract
Data is very important to organizations, and losing it can cause serious problems such as work disruption and loss of important records. Many small and medium-sized organizations still use manual methods to back up their data, which are not reliable and can easily lead to data loss due to human error, system failure, or cyberattacks. This project focuses on the design and implementation of an Automatic Data Backup System using Ansarawa Information Technology Consultancy as a case study.
The aim of the project is to develop a system that can automatically back up organizational data without the need for constant human intervention. The system was designed to perform scheduled backups, secure data using encryption, and store backup copies on both local storage and cloud platforms to ensure data safety. The system was implemented using PHP and MySQL/SQLite, with task scheduling tools used to automate the backup process.
Testing results showed that the system successfully performed regular backups, reduced the risk of data loss, and improved the efficiency of data management in the organization. The study concludes that an automatic data backup system is a reliable and effective solution for protecting organizational data and ensuring business continuity, especially for small and medium-sized enterprise.
