Abstract

A work was carried out on development of a motorized maize milling machine. The machine consists of main components that include the frame, Petrol engine (Prime mover), Milling compartment and hopper. The various components were designed and constructed according to specifications given in the literature. The components were assembled together to obtain the required machine. After three trial-test, the result obtained from the performance evaluation shows the machine capacity to be 42.3kg/hr, while efficiency was found to be 82%. The total cost of producing the machine was about N137, 900 only. The machine is recommended for small holders, local processors, rural farmers and for domestic use.
