IMPACTS OF ABANDONED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES IN OSUN STATE
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study on evaluation of government intervention in property delivery. property is a
fundamental human need and a key indicator of socio-economic development. Despite the critical
role of adequate property, many regions continue to grapple with a significant property deficit.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of government intervention in property delivery, focusing
on policies, programs, and projects implemented to alleviate property shortages and improve
accessibility for citizens. The research adopts a mixed-method approach, utilizing both qualitative
and quantitative data collected from surveys, interviews, and analysis of existing property
policies. Findings reveal that while various government interventions, such as affordable property
schemes and public-private partnerships, have been initiated, the impact remains limited due to
challenges such as inadequate funding, poor implementation strategies, corruption, and
bureaucratic inefficiencies. The study highlights the need for more comprehensive planning,
transparent policy frameworks, and increased stakeholder involvement to enhance the
effectiveness of property delivery initiatives. Recommendations include increased government
investment, improved regulatory frameworks, and the adoption of innovative construction
technologies to ensure sustainable and equitable property solutions.
