EVALUATION OF SOME HEAVY METALS CONCENTRATION IN SOME SELECTED CANNED FOOD
Abstract
This present study on some heavy metals in some canned food (Sardine and Corn beef) was carried out by using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Various heavy metals, particularly Cobalt, Nickel, Chromium, and cadmium, were discovered in two distinct types of sardine cans and corn beef. The analysis' findings demonstrated the presence of the targeted elements (Co, Ni, Cr, and Cd) in relatively good concentrations. Cr has (0.05 and 0.05) in both samples and Cd has (0.04 and 0.01), Co has (0.11 and 0.09) which was the highest heavy metal and Ni has (0.06 and 0.03). respectively. The amounts of various heavy metals that were examined in the studies' sardine and corn beef samples were found to be within daily intake.
