Abstract

The effect of oral administration of Metformin and Alloxan on the activities of ALP and ALT activities of male white albino rat liver were investigated using the standard method described by Wright et al., (1972).The result shows that the enzyme activities increase with the increase in the concentration of Metformin) as follows; ALP at 0 concentration (0.204), at 50% concentration (0.221) and at Alloxan (0.236) ALT at 0 concentration (0.007), at 50% concentration (0.038), and at Alloxan concentration (0.092). The enzyme activities increase with the increase in concentration of Metformin and Alloxan which shows that there is cell damage to the organ. Key; Metformin and Alloxan ALP : Alkaline Phosphatase ALT : Alanine Transaminase
