Abstract

ABSTRACT The case study involved the analysis of how flexible work arrangements influence the productivity of the employees in the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) in Ilorin. The research particularly sought to establish the connexion between flexible work arrangements and employee performance, analyse the impact of flexible work arrangements on employee motivation and job satisfaction, define the difficulties related to the implementation of flexible work arrangements, and evaluate the degree to which flexible work arrangements will lead to the overall productivity of an organisation. The descriptive survey design was used, and a structured questionnaire was used to gather data among the staff of FIRS, Ilorin. The statistics were also measured as frequency counts, percentages and chi-square tests were used to test the hypotheses using the data derived. The study findings found that flexible work arrangements do greatly improve employee performance, motivation and job satisfaction. The research also established that obstacles like poor supervision and technology are some of the factors that occasionally influence the effective execution of flexible work systems. Moreover, flexible working arrangements were observed to have a positive effect on the general organisational productivity through work-life balance and employee commitment. On the basis of the findings, the study recommends that the management ought to institutionalise the flexible work policies, invest in digital infrastructure and train the supervisors on techniques of handling remote managers in order to maintain high levels of productivity. Keywords: Flexible Work Arrangements, Employee Productivity, Motivation, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Performance, Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).
