CONTRUCTION OF 2.5KVA SOLAR BASED INVERTER SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project addresses the construction of a solar-powered inverter system for the efficient conversion of energy in residential applications. The designed system makes use of solar panels, which act as renewable sources of direct current for storing in the battery and converting to alternating current through an inverter for household appliances. Main components of an inverter system include the oscillation unit, amplification unit, and transformation unit, with each playing an important role in DCto-stable-AC conversion. Pure sine wave inverters are used efficiently in high utilization to allow minimal harmonic distortion for sensitive electronic devices. The calculations of battery capacity, inverter power rating, and the number of MOSFETs required in each arm are presented for optimized backup time and power delivery. The design also integrates power factor consideration and MPPT for efficient utilization of solar energy. Testing and evaluation show that the system performs reliably and efficiently in converting solar energy to household AC loads, hence proving the workability of renewable energy systems in dependence reduction on grid electricity. The contribution of this project to sustainable energy applies the use of cost-effective and eco-friendly alternatives for day-to-day needs in power consumption.
