DESIGN AND IMPLIMENTATION OF AN AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT HIRING AND SERVICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract
The Agricultural Equipment Hiring and Services Record Management System is designed to streamline the process of hiring, managing, and maintaining records of agricultural equipment for farmers, service providers, and administrators. Traditional manual systems for equipment booking and service record keeping often result in inefficiencies, delays, inaccurate data, and poor coordination between stakeholders. This system addresses these challenges by providing a centralized, web-based platform that enables farmers to browse available equipment, initiate hire requests, track bookings, and manage payments seamlessly. The system incorporates a role-based access structure, ensuring that administrators can manage equipment inventory, update availability, monitor transactions, and generate analytical reports, while farmers can interact with the system through an intuitive dashboard to view, hire, and track equipment usage. Features such as image-based equipment listings, search and filter functions, automated booking records, and secure payment tracking are integrated to enhance usability and efficiency. Developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, with a responsive interface powered by Tailwind CSS, the system ensures accessibility across devices and provides real-time updates for all users. Testing confirmed that the platform meets its objectives, significantly reducing manual workload, improving data accuracy, and enabling better resource allocation. This innovation is expected to improve agricultural productivity, optimize service delivery, and contribute to sustainable farming practices in rural community.
