Abstract

Moreover, the role of religious beliefs and practices is significant in shaping social relationships among divorced civil servants. In many communities, including those in Oyo State, religion plays a central role in people's lives. Religious institutions and practices can provide substantial social support and a sense of community. However, they can also contribute to stigma or exclusion if divorce is viewed negatively within the religious context. The attitudes of religious leaders and congregations can influence how divorced individuals are perceived and treated, impacting their social integration and emotional well-being (Ogachi 2021). Educational background and awareness also play a role in social relationships post-divorce. Individuals with higher educational levels may have better access to information and resources that can aid in coping with the challenges of divorce. They might also be more open to seeking professional help and participating in social support programs. Conversely, those with lower educational levels might face additional barriers in accessing support and navigating the social implications of their divorce. The geographical location can further affect social relationships. Urban areas may offer more opportunities for social interaction and support services, while rural areas might have fewer resources and greater social scrutiny. The density and diversity of social networks in different geographical locations can either facilitate or hinder the rebuilding of social relationships.
