Abstract

Energy saving is one of the main challenges in our day-to-day life. The constant rise in electricity tariff makes Energy saving more important and this can be done only when the energy consumed by the load is monitored. Once the load is monitored, suitable control methods can be adopted to operate the load in the optimized way to save energy and save money. Even though there are lot of technologies and solutions available to effectively monitor, control and save energy consumption of load in a house or an industry, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology is yet proposed to monitor, control and minimize energy consumption of load with convenience. The system is implemented using an Arduino microcontroller, HC-05 Bluetooth module and ACS 712 Current Sensor. This system does not require the replacement of the energy meter but we associate this system with the installed energy meter that benefit the consumer. The proposal is to design and develop an Energy Monitoring System in which the data is collected and displayed on a mobile Application. The proposed system is suitable for monitoring and controlling the load remotely
