MUSEUM
Abstract
The process of this project started with an interest in the way architecture can be used as a story
telling mode - of how space, light, and form can be used to speak the language of culture, history,
and identity. When developing this museum design, I was captivated by the long-run significance
of heritage and the influence of the spaces which stimulate reflection, learning, and interaction.
The current project can be viewed as an architectural reply to the necessity to keep the local
traditions but welcome the innovation. It discusses how a museum could extend beyond its role as
a collection of items and move to being a living space of cultural exchange, learning and creativity.
Through research, analysis and design development, the project explores the nexus between
modern architecture and indigenous values, and the goal of the project is to develop a space that
would appeal to both memory and progress.
It is not merely a designing exercise, but rather an expression of individual conviction with regard
to cultural maintenance and stability. It aims at making contribution to the architectural debate on
ways the built environments can represent identity, encourage inclusiveness, and encourage future
generations to be proud of their origins and even look forward..
