ANALYZING HOME OWNERS PERSPECTIVES ON INSURANCE IN OLD BODIJA, IBADAN
Abstract
The study examine the perception of house owner insurance policy in Old Bodija Ibadan with a view to encouraging adequate house owner insurance policy, the objective is to examine the significance of insurance of house ownership in the study area. The study adopt purposive sampling techniques for the selecting the respondents. The study population for the study were the property owners in Old bodija Ibadan, a structured questionnaire was administered to the respondents, a total of two hundred questionnaire was administered in which a total of 165 was retrieved back and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings of the study reveals that home owner insurance policy had positive perception on property value as it will enhance the property in terms of life span, aesthetic value etc. The study recommends Nigerian government and the insurance industry should invest in educating homeowners on how to prevent or mitigate weather disaster losses.
