Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examined the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in selected secondary schools in BirninKebbi. The study investigated the qualifications of counselors, availability of counseling facilities, perception of stakeholders, and the impact of counseling on students’ academic, behavioral, and career developments. A descriptive survey design was used, and data were collected from students, teachers, and counselors, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that while counseling services are available in most schools, they were hindered by inadequate facilities, insufficient training, and limited student awareness.
