Abstract

ABSTRACT This study looks at how Western civilization has influenced Yoruba traditional practices. It explores the ways colonialism, religion, media, and western culture have changed important aspects of Yoruba life such as language, religion, values, and social customs. Some of these influences have led to the weakening of traditional Yoruba beliefs and identity. Using a philosophical approach, this work reflects on how these changes have affected Yoruba culture and raises the need to protect and promote indigenous practices in the face of modern challenges.
