Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing incidence of alcohol-related accidents, health complications, and workplace hazards has created a need for intelligent systems capable of continuous monitoring and early intervention. This project presents the design and implementation of an IoT-Based Alcohol and Health Monitoring System that combines alcohol detection with real-time monitoring capabilities. The system utilizes an MQ-3 alcohol sensor, ESP8266 NodeMCU microcontroller, LCD display, LEDs, buzzer, and Wi-Fi communication technology to detect alcohol concentration and provide immediate feedback to users. The ESP8266 hosts a local web server, enabling remote monitoring of alcohol levels through connected devices. Experimental testing demonstrated reliable alcohol detection, responsive alert generation, and stable wireless connectivity. The system successfully achieved its objectives of affordability, portability, and scalability. The developed prototype can be applied in transportation safety, healthcare supervision, rehabilitation centers, and workplace monitoring. The study concludes that IoT-based alcohol monitoring systems can significantly contribute to reducing alcohol-related risks and improving public safety.
