Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examined the impact of Cloud Computing and Performance of Commercial Banks, focusing on Accounting software adoption, Broad Band penetration, Data affordability. Using a survey design, data was collected from a sample of 100 respondents. The study employed primary data collection through questionnaires. The analysis revealed that all three factors - Accounting software adoption, Broad Band penetration, Data affordability - have significant positive impact on ROA of the banks. A change in the independent variable (Cloud computing) will bring about a significant change in the dependent variables (Accounting software adoption, Broad Band penetration, Data affordability) in Kogi State by 0.960. The coefficient for Accounting software adoption is 0.466 (β = 0.560, t = 7.086, p < 0.001). hence, the null hypothesis was rejected, indicating a significant positive effect of cloud computing on revenue growth rate of Commercial Banks. Also the coefficient for Broad Band penetration is 0.101 (β = 0.113, t = 1.261, p = 0.203). hence, the null hypothesis was rejected suggesting no significant effect of cloud computing on customer retention rate. The coefficient for Data affordability is 0.417 (β = 0.310, t = 4.411, p < 0.001). hence, the null hypothesis was rejected, indicating a significant positive effect of cloud computing on market share. It was recommended that Commercial Banks in Idah local government should prioritize comprehensive accounting software adoption, with particular emphasis on advanced features that enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
