PROPOSED NASARAWA HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE, NASARAWA STATE (ACOUSTIC CONTROL IN COURT DESIGN)
Abstract
A High Court is a crucial part of the hierarchy of Superior Courts, sitting as the third highest court. The esteemed Judges who preside over cases in this court are referred to as Justices of the High Court. This court is usually constituted by a single Judge, unless it is necessary for the court to sit with jurors or assessors. The High Court has jurisdiction over all civil and criminal matters, making it an essential component of the judicial system. Additionally, it has appellate jurisdiction for appeals from the District Court and criminal appeals from the Circuit Court. Its supervisory jurisdiction extends to all lower courts across the country, further emphasizing its importance within the legal frame work of the nation. In summary, The High Court plays a vital role in ensuring that justice is served in Ireland by providing oversight over other courts and hearing complex cases with original and appellate jurisdiction.
