Abstract

The structural characteristics of concrete and sandcrete blocks from bua and dangote cement brands in nigeria were investigated in this study. The project aimed to compare the compressive strength, density, and durability of blocks produced using these two popular cement brands in the Nigerian construction industry. The study involved conducting laboratory tests on concrete and sanderete blocks manufactured wih BUA and Dangote cements. Compressive strength tests were carried out to assess the load-bearing capacity of the blocks. The results of the study revealed significant differences in the structural characteristics of blocks made with BUA and Dangote cements. The compressive strength of concrete and sandcrete blocks varied between the two brands, with one brand showing higher strength values than the other. Similarly differences in density and durability properties were observed, indicating that the choice of cement brand can influence the structural performance of the blocks. The findings of this project have practical implications for the construction industry in Nigeria, as they provide valuable insights into the structural characteristics of blocks produced with BUA and Dangote cements. Engineers, builders, and other M stakeholders can use this information to make informed decisions when selecting cement brands for their construction projects, ultimately contributing to the improvement of building quality and safety standards in the country.
