DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEB-BASED INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR YORUBA MEDICAL HERBS
Abstract
This project focuses on the design and implementation of a web-based information system for Yoruba medicinal herbs. The system aims to address the challenges of limited access to information, knowledge
gaps, and misidentification of herbs in traditional medicine practices. By creating a comprehensive database and an interactive platform, the project facilitates the proper identification and use of Yoruba medicinal herbs, ensuring safety and efficacy. The integration of data mining techniques and machine learning algorithms enhances the system's capabilities, providing users with personalized recommendations and insights. The study highlights the significance of preserving traditional knowledge, improving healthcare outcomes, and promoting economic growth through the development of the herbal medicine industry. The methodology includes a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques. The results demonstrate the system's usability, performance, and user satisfaction, underscoring its potential to bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern healthcare practices.
