CONSTRUCTION OF BURGLAR-PROOFS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING COMPLEX (PHASE I & II)
Abstract
The provision of burglar proofs at the Department of Mechanical Engineering
complex to prevent all forms of external aggression is very vital. The burglar
proofs were fabricated with available construction Tools and Machines in the
Department Mechanical Engineering. Part of materials used was Mild Steel
Square Pipes of 1
1
/2 inch and 2 inches, Angle Iron and other scraps which would
have been wasted but recycled. The materials are highly durable, rigid and
affordable. Good finishing and painting were done on the surface to resist
corrosion and for aesthetic purposes. The burglar-proofs were successfully
constructed, installed and confirmed to be good enough for the purpose for which
they were installed.
