OXIDATION OF MORPHOLINE
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The oxidation of amines involves the conversion of the amine functional group (\(-NH_{2}\)) to either an imine (\(-NH-\)) or an amine oxide (\(-N=O\)). This process can be achieved through various methods, such as using oxidizing agents like hydrogen peroxide, peracids, or metal oxides. The resulting products depend on the specific conditions and reagents used in the oxidation reaction. In this work morpholine was oxidized using hydrogen peroxide. The reaction was achieved based on the presence of \(C=N\) absorption at \(1655 \text{ cm}^{-1}\).
