Abstract

This project focuses on the development of an advanced sun tracking solar panel system, leveraging the synergy of Light Dependent Resistors (LDRs) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency of solar energy harvesting by dynamically aligning the solar panel with the sun's position throughout the day. The integration of LDRs allows the system to continuously monitor the ambient light intensity. By processing this data in real-time, the solar panel can adapt its orientation to maintain an optimal angle relative to the incoming sunlight. This responsive adjustment ensures that the solar panel consistently captures the maximum available solar energy, even in varying lighting conditions. Furthermore, the inclusion of GPS technology provides accurate location-based information. The system utilizes this data to precisely determine the geographical coordinates of its installation. By combining this information with the current date and time, the solar panel can accurately calculate the sun's position at any given moment. This comprehensive approach enables the solar panel to adapt to changing solar angles based on its specific geographical location, ensuring optimal energy capture efficiency. The autonomous nature of the sun tracking system minimizes reliance on manual adjustments, making it a highly efficient and user-friendly solution for solar energy generation. The synergy between LDRs and GPS technology empowers the solar panel to continuously optimize its orientation, maximizing energy output and contributing to sustainable energy practices.
