SELF-LEARNING CHATBOT FOR COLLEGE-RELATED FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
As our education system increasingly adopts online platforms, colleges and universities are faced
with the challenge of providing efficient and personalized support to students. Chatbots have
emerged as a promising solution to address this challenge by providing 24/7 availability and
immediate assistance. In this project, we will discuss the development and implementation of a
college FAQ chatbot, its benefits, and its challenges. Building a chatbot is a complex process that
requires designing the conversational flow, training the bot with relevant information, and
integrating it with a suitable platform. The first step in building a chatbot is identifying the
objectives of the bot, understanding the target audience, and designing the conversational flow.
The conversational flow includes the messages exchanged between the bot and the user, the
questions the bot will ask, and the responses it will provide. The design of the conversational flow
should be simple and easy to understand, with clear options for the user to choose from. Training
the bot is another crucial step in the development process. The bot needs to be trained with accurate
and up-to-date information to provide meaningful responses to user queries. This requires
gathering relevant data from various sources and inputting it into the bot. Natural language
processing (NLP) technology is used to enable the bot to understand and interpret user queries and
provide relevant responses. Once the bot is designed and trained, it needs to be integrated with a
suitable platform to provide seamless communication with users. This can be done through various
messaging platforms or websites. The integration process requires configuring the bot to work
with the platform's API and setting up the necessary security protocols.
