AN ASSESSMENT OF CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY TO MITIGATE PROJECT FAILURE OF PUBLIC PROJECTS WITHIN ZARIA CITY.
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research assessed the construction methodology of public projects within Zaria City with a
view to mitigate project failure. The study focused on identifying the common methodologies
employed, evaluating their effectiveness in achieving time, cost, and quality targets, and
suggesting improvements. Data were collected through checklists, site surveys, and interviews
with construction professionals. Findings revealed that while conventional methods dominate,
compliance with modern methodology standards is poor, leading to project delays, cost overruns,
and compromised quality. Recommendations were made on planning, supervision, health and
safety, and stakeholder training to improve project delivery.
