BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF DIETARY PROTEIN QUALITY IN RABBITS FED BIODEGRADED RICE HUSK
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the dietary protein quality of feeds containing biodegraded rice husk when fed to rabbits. The research was conducted to determine the effect of biodegraded rice husk on nutrient utilization, growth performance, feed conversion efficiency, and overall health status of rabbits. Experimental diets were formulated with varying inclusion levels of biodegraded rice husk and administered to rabbits under controlled management conditions. Data collected included feed intake, weight gain, protein efficiency ratio, biological value, and nitrogen retention. The results indicated that biodegraded rice husk can serve as a valuable feed ingredient when properly processed, improving protein utilization and reducing feed costs without adversely affecting animal performance. The study concludes that biodegraded rice husk has potential as an alternative feed resource in rabbit production systems.
