LENGTH WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP AND CONDITION FACTOR OF CLARIAS GARIEPINUS FED AZOLLA PINNATA (AZOLLA) SUPPLEMENTED DIETS
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study examines the length-weight relationship and condition factor of Clarias gariepinus fed diets supplemented with Azolla pinnata. Juvenile catfish were exposed to varying levels of Azolla inclusion over a set period. Growth performance was assessed using standard biometric methods. Results showed a strong correlation between length and weight, with positive condition factors across treatments. Moderate Azolla inclusion improved fish health and growth, indicating its potential as a sustainable feed ingredient in aquaculture. These findings support the use of Azolla pinnata as a cost-effective alternative in fish feed formulation, promoting eco-friendly aquaculture practices.
