Abstract

ABSTRACT ,(.Magnifera indica L)Identification and Management of fungal diseases of mango Purposive sampling was .local government Sokoto state Nigeria in sokoto south carried to select three locations (Tudunwada, mabera, Rijiyar lemu). Nine Samples were collected in a sterile polythene bags and transported to the laboratory of biological sciences, polythene b Sokoto state University for isolation fungal pathogens. Azadiracta indica was used in management of the fungal disease. The samples were inoculated on petri dishes containing solidified Potato Dextrose Agar. It was then subcultured to obtain pure cultures. Pathogenicity was also conducted. Four fungal species were identified which include, Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus stolife,r and Aspergillės flavus. Mabera was found to have the highest frequency of occurrence of the fungal pathogens. Rhizopus stolonfer had the highest mycelia growth inhibition on the healthy mango. The four fungal species isolated were found to be pathogenic to the mango in Kware Local Government. Ethanolic extract of Azadiracta indica shows the highest inhibition on Rhizopus stolonifer mabera had the highest number fungal pathoges, more investigation is required in that area.
