PREVALENCE OF GASTROINTESTINAL PARASITE ON FECAL SAMPLE IN IN GOAT SLAUGHTERED
Abstract
This study investigated the prevalence and intensity of gastrointestinal parasites in goats slaughtered at the abattoir. A total of 20 fecal samples were collected and examined using flotation, sedimentation, and McMaster techniques to identify parasite species and determine infection intensity. The results revealed that only one goat (5.0%) was positive for Coccidia spp., while no helminth eggs or trematode oocysts were detected. The infection intensity was low (150 EPG), indicating a mild parasitic burden. Further analysis showed that the infection occurred only in young goats (
