Abstract

Building collapse is a persistent and devastating phenomenon in Nigeria, resulting in significant loss of lives, properties, and investments. Across the country, and notably in Kaduna State, the frequency of building failures has raised critical concerns among stakeholders in the construction and regulatory sectors. Several studies attribute these collapses to a combination of poor design, substandard construction practices, weak regulatory enforcement, and the use of inferior materials. As urbanization intensifies and the demand for residential, commercial, and industrial structures rises, it becomes increasingly important to address the root causes of building failures.
