Using a questionnaire as its research tool, the study reveals that government policies have significantly and mostly negatively affected registered SMEs in Kwara State. Factors include policy misalignment with SME needs, leading to transaction difficulties, reduced customer satisfaction, revenue losses, cash flow constraints, and limnitations on expansion. Acknowledging diverse perspectives, the study recommends informed policy design. collaboration with SMEs, and continued support and education by organizations like SMEDAN to navigate regulations effectively. The findings stress the necessity for periodic policy evaluations and reforms to ensure alignment with evolving SME needs and foster a more favorable business environment.
