FABRICATION OF STAINLESS STEEL FOOD RACK
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project fabricates a food grade stainless rack for food storage. Stainless steel of grade 304
was used to favour easy maintenance, avoid rusting and adhere to food safety regulations. The
manufacturing process includes cutting, bending, welding, measuring and polishing to create
smooth, seamless surfaces that resist bacteria growth. Factors such as weight capacity, ventilation
for optimal airflow and stackable features to save space were considered. The rack layer was made
with rod in a perforated manner to further assist in ventilation. The rack was made of 5 tiers and
a rigid frame for stable structure. The final product solves the problem of the school bakery of lack
of food grade storage rack.
