Abstract

This stuff examines rhetoric and satire in Songs of the Marketplace by Niyi Osundare. It studies the diction used by the poet to express richly African representation. It also examines the sociopolitical and economic condition through satirizing government officials and community as issues of concern are expressed through imagery, symbolism and other devices of rhetoric and satire. This study adopts Marxism as its theoretical framework to examine the (20) twenty selected poems.
