COST-EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT AND SECURE WAN DESIGN USING CISCO PACKET TRACER
Abstract
Organisations in today's digital world depend on Wide Area Networks (WANs) to link geographically separated locations and enable effective data exchange and communication. It can be difficult to build a wide area network (WAN) that strikes a balance between cost, efficiency, and security. Using Cisco Packet Tracer, this research focuses on designing and simulating an economical, efficient, and secure wide area network. The paper describes how to build a hybrid topology, accomplish subnetting, configure network devices, and put in place crucial security measures like firewalls and Access Control Lists (ACLs). Simulation experiments were performed to assess the network's protection level, performance, and dependability. Without sacrificing security, the results show that a well-designed wide area network (WAN) with the right subnetting, routing, and security configurations can achieve cost effectiveness and network dependability. For academic and business settings looking for reasonably priced and secure wide area network solutions, the project offers a scalable model.
