Abstract

Abstract This research work presents the investigation on the possibility of using melted low density polyethylene commonly known as waste sachet water bags as binders in production of sandy bricks. Waste sachet water bags were brought from the factories and refuse dumping sites. They were then shredded and weighed to appropriate ratios and then heated to melting point. Sandy soil of appropriate weight was then added and stirred well. The mixture was then cast into moulds. The ratios of sandy soil to melted sachet water bags used were 70:30, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60 and 0:100
