Abstract

ABSTRACT Breast cancer is a complex disease that affect millions of individuals worldwide. Nigeria has one of the highest mortality rates of breast cancer and the highest in Africa. The effectiveness of dif- ferent types of chemotherapy regimens that reduce malignant tumor size in breast cancer patients remains a subject of investigation worldwide while chemotherapy is one of the most commonly used treatment approach for breast cancer patients with the aim to shrink malignant tumor. This research aims to investigate which chemotherapy regimen is effective in reducing malignant tu- mor in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy using ANOVA. We conduct a research on 9 breast cancer patients at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano(AKTH) with 3 chemotherapy regimens which are: Cyclophosphamide + Doxorubicin, Epirobicin + Cyclophosphamide and Paclitaxel, Each regimen is assigned to 3 patients and we used One-Way ANOVA to analyze the mean patients tumor size before and after chemotherapy and see which regimen is effective in shrinking malignant tumor after chemotherapy. Based on the analysis that we made in this research we find out that all the three (3) chemotherapy regimens are effective in reducing ma- lignant tumor size in breast cancer patients.
