DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF MICROCONTROLLER BASED SOIL NUTRIENT DETECTION AND DISPENSARY SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and implementation of a microcontroller-based soil nutrient detection and fertilizer dispensing system aimed at improving precision agriculture. The system integrates an NPK soil nutrient sensor, Arduino Uno microcontroller, relay module, submersible pump, and LCD display to monitor nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) levels in real time. The microcontroller compares nutrient readings with predefined thresholds and automatically activates a fertilizer pump whenever deficiencies are detected.
The system was designed, constructed, tested, and evaluated in various soil conditions. Results show that the device accurately monitors soil nutrient levels and automatically dispenses fertilizer when required. The system offers a low-cost, energy-efficient, and portable solution suitable for small- and medium-scale farmers.
