INTERSECTION OF ART AND LEARNING IN MURAL
Abstract
This study analysed the intersection of Art and learning in Mural. The study’s major objective was to organize the creation and structure of a mural that would convincingly summarize the merging of creative and educational activity, simultaneously challenging the ability of artistic interventions to expand educational results and develop creative abilities. Specifically, the study explores the relationship between art and learning by investigating the ways in which art can support learning and cognitive development. An interdisciplinary approach and combination of art, education, and social sciences were used to analyse the intersection of art and learning in murals as well as employing qualitative investigative methods to investigate how things were created, how the interaction occurs and what outcomes will result. The study findings revealed that through a combination of artistic expression and instructional practices, the murals go beyond aesthetic improvement of the surroundings to foster community participation, protect the cultural heritage, and advance visual literacy. It therefore recommended that schools should provide materials and tools for mural creation, allowing students to explore their creativity and develop essential skills.
