COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITIES OF MORINGA (MORINGA OLEIFERA) LEAVES AND SEEDS ON SOME SELECTED ORGANISMS.
Abstract
ABSTRACT
In this study, the antimicrobial activity of moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves and seeds of ethanolic and aqueous extracts were evaluated. Antimicrobial activity screening of moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves and seed for aqueous and ethanol extracts were conducted using agar well diffusion method by determining the diameter of zone of inhibition, also Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bacteriocidal Concentration (MBC) against some selected microorganisms, also the ethanolic extracts were tested against five bacteria which includes; Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albican. The results of the antimicrobial screening of Moringa oleifera leaves for ethanolic extract is shown in table 1; which reveal that Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli. had the highest zones of inhibition while Candida ablican had the le
