Abstract

The need for a welding and fabrication workshop in a technology-driven institution like the Federal polytechnic, Ilaro cannot be overemphasized. Welding and fabrication as skills have great potentials in proving jobs, increasing employability and boosting the economy. The department currently does not have adequately equipped welding and fabrication workshop that can suffice for training her students in technical aspect of the course as required. This project was designed to bridge the knowledge gap created by unavailability of a functional workshop facility to train students. The layout measure 16.7m x 2.85m x 3.39m and divided into three compartments. It is hoped that if put to proper use, it can serve the needs of the department.
