Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing global discussion about significant reforms in science education aimed at equipping young people with the necessary scientific and technological skills for the future (Lustig, 2019; Smith et al., 2020; UNESCO, 2021). Several educational initiatives have been introduced worldwide to address these needs, particularly in Western countries. Notable examples include the "Next Generation Science Standards" (NGSS, 2017) in the United States, "Science Capital" in the UK (Archer et al., 2018), and ongoing evaluations like the PISA assessments (OECD, 2018). These efforts share common goals, emphasizing the need to move away from traditional methods and adopt more innovative, student-centered approaches to science education.
