DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ELECTRONIC EVENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Event management is an important part of organising and coordinating events such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and social gatherings. Traditional manual methods of event planning often cause inefficiencies, including poor communication, delayed registration and participant tracking. To overcome these challenges, this project introduces the design and implementation of a web-based Event Management System (EMS) that makes it easier for the organisers to conduct, register for, and take part in their events. The system offers different interfaces for administrators, organisers and participants. Administrators are in charge of dealing with users, monitoring events and approving / declining event requests. Organisers can host events including information such as title, date and venue and description. Event participants can browse events, register online and receive a digital ticket. Additional features include integrated payment processing, automated email notifications, and reporting for tracking event performance. The system is developed using latest web technology with a centralised database to store the event information, participant information, and the transaction information. This allows for data consistency, security and accessibility across devices. By automating certain essential processes, the proposed system offers improved efficiency, transparency, and convenience for the users, making it an effective solution to enhance cost savings for schools, organisations, and community groups.
