Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examined the impact of human resource training on organizational success, using Zenith Bank Plc, Afikpo Branch, Ebonyi State, as a case study. The study sought to determine the relationship between human resource training and organizational productivity, employee job satisfaction, organizational profitability, cost reduction, and employee retention. The need for the study arose from concerns regarding inadequate and sometimes unsystematic training practices, which may negatively affect organizational performance. Relevant literature was reviewed and the study was anchored on the Human Capital Theory and the Technology-Based Approach Theory. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consisted of 320 employees of Zenith Bank, Afikpo Branch, while a sample size of 178 was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. Out of the questionnaires distributed, 164 valid responses were retrieved and analyzed. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using frequency distribution tables, percentages, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between human resource training and organizational productivity, employee job satisfaction, organizational profitability, cost reduction, and employee retention. The study established that effective training enhances employees’ skills and competencies, improves work performance, increases profitability, reduces operational costs, and promotes workforce stability
